Overview
About Me
A dancer, mathematician, teacher, and programmer from Seattle, WA. In college I studied physics, chemistry, math... basically every science I could get my hands on. After college I started working as a software engineer, but quickly realized it wasn't for me. I've been a children's math instructor ever since. I have been a swing dancer for more than 4 years, and I am an avid fan of music, especially jazz.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
-I have always wanted to be a host for Couchsurfers, but unfortunately haven't had the permission of my fellow housemates. As a traveler, I hope to learn what qualities make a great host so that I too can be one when the time comes.
-I am also looking for inspiration. Inspiration may come in many forms, whether it be philosophical, artistic, or vocational. Meeting new people in new cultures will expose me to ideas and life styles that I haven't considered.
-I'll be backpacking through Europe the next few months with a tight budget. Would love to get to know new people in the cities I visit. I am also scoping out universities that I may apply to next year, as I am hoping to get into a Mathematics or Physics Masters in Europe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in Rome while working on a short film as an undergraduate. It was a two month Italian film studies program, and we were focusing on the different ways Rome is often represented in film.
The short documentary film focused on the tourism industry in Rome, and is somewhere on Youtube if you really searched for it. Not linking it to save you the trouble of watching a bad documentary :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a lot of experience as a tutor, specifically in math and programming, generally in the physical sciences. If I can help you study, I would be glad to. I can also teach you the basics of east coast swing dancing, if you care to learn.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can take you out dancing in the local scene if you haven't already experienced it. Trust me when I say that swing dancing is nearly everywhere (at least, everywhere I tend to be).
I can cook in exchange for hosting. It's not top tier, but I'm better than the average person. I know how to make some curries from scratch, or simply grill a good slice of steak.
Or, if you'd rather avoid a stranger's cooking, I'd be happy to buy you a drink or a bite. Just point me in the right direction!
