About Me
I'm a high school teacher! My profession is a big part of who I am: I love learning and exploring and finding things that inspire--and what a better to do all of the above than by traveling and immersing yourself in different cultures?
How did I get to where I am today? Well, after I graduated from Cal Poly, SLO, I found myself holding a ticket to France with a return date nowhere in sight. I ended up teaching as a Language Assistant in Toulon, France for 7 months. I've had the travel bug since. Summer vacation: one of the perks of being a teacher.
Aussi, je parle français! ... un peu... ... pas bien. C'était 2010-11 quand j'ai vecu là.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking for people to hang out with and events to go to while I travel! If you want a friend to go to some cool event, I'm the one!
At some point, I'd like to host and show people around the SF Bay Area. I call Oakland home, so a trip to the "Bay Area" wouldn't be complete without a tour of the real Oakland.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Teaching in France was probably one of the most rewarding experiences. Having never traveled before, I bought a flight to France with a return date over 9 months away (it was the maximum allowed).
People also think that the fact that I've completed triathlons is a big deal... but you just gotta get started :)
