I love the outdoors, and am always trying to find new ways to get paid for being there. In between adventure seasons, I'm living in North Carolina, enjoying the mountains, meeting truly fantastic people, and dancing, dancing, dancing. Life is good.

Couchsurfing has served me well - I've met many wonderful and interesting people through the site! I still struggle to host, because I have only three pieces of furniture...but I'm good for information/tours!

Music, Movies, and Books

Megan Slankard, Anais Mitchell, The Novelists, Mother Mother, and Kimbra are my current favorite artists; I'm addicted to the album "Hadestown." I read almost everything and always. I favor documentaries and foreign films, but enjoy a good comedy every now and then.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Met a magical man at the top of a mountain once. Been circled by a cougar and lived to tell the tale. Hung out in the Alps and Appalachians and the Sierra Nevada for lengthy periods of time. Tracked some feral hogs. Almost died on a glacier. The usual.

Plants of the Blue Ridge mountains. Classical opera. Swing and contra dancing. German. A very long list of book recommendations. Feral hog tracking. Fish-gutting. Making excellent lattes, gluhweins, hot toddies, and chicken marbella. Making terrible rice. Song and dance. Long letters sealed with wax. Involved conversations. Laughs.
