About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to squeeze the juice out of life, love lots of; humor yet be mindful of others and the planet. I want to not forget the importance of being vigilant over and exercising our liberties and unalienable rights so that our children may enjoy theirs.

ABOUT ME

I'm a child of the 60's and am still very independent minded. I travelled quite a bit in Latin America in the 70's and 80's. I always backpacked and lived from day to day where ever the wind blew me.
I was married but am now single and have been living in Texas since mid 1980's. I continue to enjoy meeting people and learning about the world. I enjoy cooking, laughing, walking, conversation, music, dancing, and spending time with my family and friends. I prefer living in a small town to city life. Countryside treks are the best. Here we have vineyards, wineries, beautiful spring wildflowers if it rains and good music. I like to cook and enjoy baking. I love to make homemade ice cream and won first place in the Stare Fair of Texas hand ranked contest. I. promoted Texas singer songwriters for 3. years until the world shut down in 2020. I love serendipity and being spontaneous. Unfortunately my free time is limited these days, but still do what I can to remember to stop and smell the roses. Preserving our country's founding principles and freedoms have become more important than ever to me.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Be a friend. Be a difference. Find the 'can' - not the 'can't'. I recently viewed the films Down the Rabbit Hole and The Secret. I believe you can do whatever you want to do - hopefully it will be in a spirit of goodwill for yourself, your community, your family, and the world. Look for the good, but be aware that all is not good. Search for the truth and share it to those who are open to receive it, learn to discern. Give attention to your whole wellbeing, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. Don't forget humor and SMILE!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I learned about CS the summer of 2009. I having been sharing the information about couch surfing with anyone in my area and with anyone I meet who seems interested in travel and getting to know about other cultures, languages, music, food, etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS opportunity was in Switzerland and France in July 2009 when I went to visit my son who was an exchange student at the time. It was absolutely fabulous! Couchsurfers are wonderful folks. I have since couchsurfed in Texas, too as well as host some delightful visitors. All my experiences were very positive.

Interests

Travel, language study, cultural exchange, food, cooking, laughing, music, dancing, World Cup soccer. I like the beach and the mountains, too - especially in the tropics. I do not smoke. And did I mention I like dancing? Especially Western Swing! I am now taking lessons for LindyHop, EastCoast Swing, Charleston, etc.
