ABOUT ME

Describe myself with limited characters? Challenge accepted! My name is Christine but I have really only gone by Tina during my wonderful 26 years of life on this planet. I truly enjoy a great conversation more than anything else. It gets your mind going and you get to exercise your personal outlook which is fantastic. I'm always up for new experiences, places, food and people. I love to read, sing terribly in the shower, have a good beer with friends and spend the mornings walking the beach/hiking scenic trails with my pups. Time alone like that gives you space to think and appreciate things around you. I want to get more out of traveling. Truly. I don't feel that just because you go to another country/place that you are entitled to a great experience. You need to work at it and really open yourself up to new people and places. I am hoping, through CS, that I get to know the locals and gain a better understanding and appreciation for any place I visit. Sports and being outdoors are a huge part of my life and I love to watch and play almost any kind. The atmosphere at games from both the viewpoint of the crowd and as a player is indescribable. I live a simple yet extraordinary life and I wouldn't have it any other way. Hopefully if we meet, you will find that I am extremely open and understanding (never judgmental). Simply, I am here on CS to have an opportunity to share Beaverton/Portland with new people and make some great connections!

I just got back from traveling for 3 months in North America, Asia, and Europe! it was a fantastic experience and I can't wait to go again.

Intereses

I enjoy trying new things from skydiving to volunteering my time at the local homeless shelter (and everything in between!). I have a bucket list that I am gradually chipping away at as I go. I've moved quite alot from Massachusetts to Maine to Mississippi, back to Massachusetts to Oregon! I have two fluffy family members who live with me (my dogs: Maya & Minnie). I adopted both of them from shelters and they are fantastic. Science and in-depth discussions about anything are a huge passion of mine but I enjoy just shooting the breeze or dancing my butt off if the time is right. Hiking/climbing is a big part of my life and if you enjoy being outside, we're going to have a lot to talk about!

I know that I haven't read enough yet because I haven't read everything.

Music is dependent on my mood. I appreciate every form of it but I'll only listen when the time is right. Though, to be fair, Folk & Traditional always fits the mood.

I am not the biggest movie buff that ever existed but I am always up for catching a flick with friends. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Shawshank Redemption, Greenstreet Hooligans, V for Vendetta and the Brave Little Toaster.

Awestruck? Hmm. I think the moments that leave you breathless are small and you never see coming. For me, they are short spurts of experience. More recently, I was walking my dog at dusk along the rocky shore line of the Eastern Promenade in Portland when I came across an older male and his dog out for a walk as well. The gentlemen looked around the beach we were walking and didn't see us. He unleashed his dog and the dog went bounding into the water (tongue flapping in the wind as he ran). The dog was ecstatic and free... and happy and the man started to laugh. Then, he looked around the beach again, not seeing us and then jumped in the water too fully clothed.. swimming after his dog and laughing the entire time. It was such a pure moment of innocence that I couldn't help but smile and appreciate it. The man never knew that I had seen it and I'm glad it stayed that way.
