ABOUT ME
I love travelling and hope to live abroad for many a year. I know parts of South America fairly well having spent months travelling there to learn Spanish. I really want to go to Asia, Africa and Australisia, in fact just writing this makes me want to go even more!
My favourite cities in the world, hmmm an increasingly long list. London, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona, Sevilla, Granada, Arequipa, Salta, Santiago... i could go on
The most interesting country i've had the opportunity to visit? a toughy, but probably Cuba
PHILOSOPHY
cliché #2&3: carpe diem / 'global citizien'

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: a Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela was pretty inspiring stuff. my favourite book is normally the last one i really got into so Love and War in the Apennines ranks pretty high.
TV: anything narrated by the legend that is David Attenborough (Brits will know him), decent comedies (the Office, UK version of course :), Alan Partridge)
Films: Shawshank Redemption, Blackbook, Austin Powers
Music: genuinely eclectic - everything from hip hop, disco, 90s cheese (love a bit of technotronic/culture beat), classical, britpop
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
visiting south america, seeing nelson mandela - a bit of personal hero - speak in Trafalgar Square
Teach, Learn, Share
i'd like to improve my language skills. the flipside of being English, especially if you've taught it and write speeches for a living, is that lots of people see you as a walking teacher. i gave up my job and life in london to learn spanish in south america but everyone wanted to speak english to me... slightly frustrating!
