ABOUT ME

I'm fresh from the backwoods, half-horse, half-alligator, a little touched with the snapping turtle. I can leap the Ohio, ride a streak of lightning, slip without a scratch down the honey locust, whip my weight in wildcats, hug a bear too close for comfort, and drink the Mississippi dry.

Self-summary inevitably leads to such boasts.

To moderate that tendency, let me minimally say that some of the big things that motivate me are making good stories, living well, satiating curiosity, and fightin' the good fight for Mother Gaia.

For work, I edit for a handful of engineering and mathematics journals, teach math for math competitions online, and sell some of my specialty beers and wines.

I like reading, hiking, gardening/farming, pickling, fermenting, self-tracking, telling stories, going to art shows, cider pressing, being a good citizen, teaching, foraging, brewing, beekeeping, listening, kayaking, being kind, mushroom hunting, playing with kids, meditating, challenging myself, making puns, and tinkering with appropriate technologies.
