About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Host/Surf/Meet 1000 CouchSurfers before my bank balance hits 10,000 GBP!

ABOUT ME

Im a 26 year old male, living in Hong Kong. I lived in Japan for just over 3 years, and originally, I'm from the north west of England. Im a big football (soccer) fan and I enjoy a good drink too! I'm pretty much down for whatever! My motto is try to live in the moment and you should always try everything once! I guess thats two mottos but I'm throwing them together!

I enjoy meeting new people, especially if we have common interests but if not then that's also cool (although, I'm yet to meet someone with whom I haven't a single thing in common with!)

I love watching movies, listening to music, sharing stories as well as learning new things! Recently I've decided to start learning Sign Language as I've realised that people take hearing for granted. (although I have to be honest, it's difficult learning a language when you dont get any opportunity to use it!) If somebody speaks more than one language and they're not deaf you can pretty much guarantee that one of their languages isn't Signing! And so I think it makes you more of a well rounded person to at least consider this and by learning it you just become that little more intriguing to me. Same applies for brail!

PHILOSOPHY

...*strikes a pensive pose*...

I don't know how many people will have seen this but a number of years ago there was a television advert by one2one (a mobile network, now known as T-mobile). Anyway, the adverts tagline was 'who are you? You're every one2one you've ever had.'

I quite like that idea!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offered my couch to anyone & everyone! I'm not currently in a hosting situation but i've lived in Hong Kong for nearly 2 years now. So, I can take you out for a drink/food or show you some of the hidden gems or in some cases not so hidden gems that Hong Kong has to offer!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

To this point I've had a number of surfers come and stay with me in Japan, which was ace!! I've met some of the most fascinating people through coushsurfing and it's been amazing!!

I've done two surfs myself, my first was with a guy who had cycled from South Korea back to the UK over a 9 month period - amazing!! And the second put me up in Hong Kong while I was searching for a place of my own, which was massively appreciated and really helped me out!

Interests

Well as I've mentioned above, I'm a big football fan in particular 'The Mighty' Arsenal FC!

(football/soccer). I enjoy running, cooking, watching movies, listening to music, meeting new people, eating, drinking, sharing stories, summer/hot weather, swimming, going to the gym, reading Harry Potter, playing computer games and thats just to name a few! I'm quite literally down for anything (unless of course it's something rather untasteful like mass suicide or something)!

Oh...I also quite enjoy making a fool of myself! ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: YES
Music: YES
Books: Harry Potter!

Seriously though, I have a massive collection of movies that I'm still struggling to get through after years of doing nothing but watching them as a lazy student!!

Music wise I also have quite an extensive & eclectic collection! Put my music on Shuffle and you will hear anything ranging form The Kinks to Pavarotti, to The Foals, to Bach, to 50 cent, to Slipknot, to Frank Sinatra, to Beyonce, to Bananarama, to DJ Tiesto, to Pendulum, to Bob Dylan, to Jay Chou. There is Quite literally something for everybody in my music collection!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm...well I set-up & organized a global event that raised over 3,000,000 yen for those affected by the March 11th Earthquake & Tsunami. There were events happening in over 12 countries and the total amount of people that participated was in the 1000's!

I also ran a full Marathon in Miyakojima, Okinawa (the most beautiful place in the world)!
