About Me

CURRENT MISSION

On the quest for Europe’s WOW! factor. Learn, experience, share and have fun!

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and I do it as much as I can (www.voltaeuropa.com).

I love to experience new things and I will try almost anything within some boundaries. Open-minded, I always try to see the best in people. I’m agreeable and very easy to be with. I’m honest, very considerate and I always try to be helpful.

I love music, art, movies, cultural and natural curiosities, bio and nanotechnology and all discovery/national geographic type of content.

I love beauty in general and I can find it in almost everything. From the Hong Kong urban mass organization to the 800 years old Chinese rice terraces, to an end of afternoon having a beer with friends.

I love to realise how outstanding mankind is and the amazing and unbelievable things people can do. In the end it’s all about people!

I love to walk around the cities and I see them like unique living organisms, climb a mountain or the great wall of China, cross lakes and visit exotic tropical islands. I appreciate a concert, a theatre play, street performances, festivals of any kind, and to have a drink and a good conversation with about anyone that’s willing to share and listen.

I can have an interesting conversation of about near everything! I can adapt very easily, I’m a great learner and very curious about everything.

PHILOSOPHY

Hoy se vive, mañana se ve.
Today we live, tomorrow we’ll see.

Sorte acontece quando a competência encontra a oportunidade.
Luck happens when competence meets opportunity.

Há que apanhar as nozes quando elas caem.
You have to catch the nuts while they’re falling. (quoting my grandmother)

Good things happen to good people.

And I keep reminding myself... KISS! (Keep It Simple Stupid!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf couches, go to CS meetings, offer my couch and knowledge of the Portuguese culture. What better way to keep on travelling even when you are at home?
yes... and I try to get everyone I meet into CouchSurfing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surf couches, go to CS meetings and have the best experiences with the people I've met. They have all added value to my life and remind me that the world is full of great and interesting people with lots to share. And that I'm one of those people! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, movies and unfortunately I don’t read as many books as I would like (yeah… blame it on the internet!).

I listen to about everything from Portuguese music, to blues, Amy Winehouse or John Meyer, Lady Gaga, Beirut or the genius Pink Floyd. I love to listen to radio, never knowing what comes next, get pleasantly surprised or reminded of some oldies…

I go to the movies or watch a movie at home frequently. I watch almost every type of movie (except the terror ones!). Loved 300, Matrix is a classic, Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino are genius. Memento, the Bourne movies and a funny and uplifting movie about love and life is always welcome.

For books I prefer practical... books as Punk Marketing (“Get off your ass and join the revolution” at http://www.punkmarketing.com/), Seth Godin’s Tribes or Michael Neil’s You Can Have What You Want.
