Overview
About Me
I'm a native of Slovenia, a tiny European country wedged between Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. My educational background is in journalism and ecology/sustainability. I did a year abroad while studying for my Bachelor's and lived in Eskisehir, Turkey and three years during my Master's in Lund, Sweden. In 2012 I moved to D.C. area and live in NYC area at the moment.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's been a dream of mine to go visit California and now I'm finally doing it :) My intent is to travel from San Francisco down to San Diego and soaking up as much Californian sun as I can along the way. I'm a very social person and I thrive on finding out local spots and non-touristy things to do when I travel, so I'm hoping that Couchsurfing will not only be a good place to find generous people who're offering a free place to stay, but also a good insight into a local culture from a person that knows the area.
Interests
I love dogs and nature in general; hiking, swimming, playing tennis, volleyball, walking, biking;

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music, especially rock, rock'n'roll and metal;
I play the guitar and sing and love to go to all sorts of concerts
My rule for books: if it doesn't grab me in the first 10 pages, I put it down and almost never attempt to read it again - there are to many good ones out there to waste my time :)
Movies: all genres, except Si-Fi and really gruesome horror movies. So please don't be offended if I don't really know the differences between Star Wars and Star Trek (I know, someone's heart is physically hurting right now, I apologize!) Otherwise, I'm pretty open to watch anything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've spent three months at an ecological farm / tourism in Tuscany while I was writing my field research for my thesis.
I learned how to herd and milk goats and sheep, how to make cheese.
How to work on an ecological farm and work in the vineyards.
I want to learn more as I'd like to have my own little eco-B&B someday
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some basic guitar chords and Slovenian and Serbo-Croatian language and how to make your own silk scarfs and ties, or grow non GMO strawberries on your balcony ;)
