ABOUT ME

All about us. Well, we are two not-that-scouse-scousers who are off on a big trip to see Europe! Here is the stuff you cant categorise. Michael loves his gin, his dancing like a lunatic, his clothes, his architecture his books, his magazines, parks and anything really as long as it does not involve being too grown up! Oh and he also has a slightly gigantic cigarette addiction, however is always in accordance with hosts smoking requirements, such as smoking outside or providing multitudes of cigarettes!
Carly likes her cider, does photography (no, not that kind of photography) and tends to survive on 4 hours sleep a night. And tells the world's worst jokes!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, first time travellers here I'm afraid. We have been to most countries in West Europe (your classic British destinations, France Spain Italy Germany Greece blah) but never backpacking and never couchsurfing!

Centres d'intérêt

Well, what to put. We are off on a European Adventure for a few weeks, starting In Berlin and ending in Barcelona. We are on a serious budget so...couchsurfing would be a blessing! Whilst travelling hobbys will include seeing the sights, museums, art galleries and the likes, but also enjoying the nightlife and partying. We are also interested in food and foody stuff, so you could expect a great kitchen double act and much interest in local foodstuff! One of the main points of the trip though is not to be too touristy, ie, try and speak the language and se what life is really like in these places, so couchsurfing could be beneficial all round!!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Well this is Michael writing currently so I can only speak for myself although we have similar taste. Movies, well, I'm no expert (whereas Carly has a degree in film studies. I like indie movies mainly, my favorites are quite often french, delicatessen, amelie, la fille sur la pont, that kinda thing, and I love Medem (Carlys influence). Apart from that, David Lynch, the darker side of directing, and of course, the total classic, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Music, well we both have a great appreciation. Indie kids at heart, though we both have a penchant for heavy heavy rock (esp in nightclubs) and I personally have a very soft spot for punk old and nu skool! Carly likes pretty much the same but with an unhealthy obsession for the Libertines and Pearl Jam.But anything really from pop, to dance and beyond and lest we forget 80's synth! Books, again we are both literary having both studied it at Uniersity. Personally my favorite book is, well it changes regularly but I will have to go with the god of small things by Arundhati Roy, but I enjoy a range of authors and periods. Carly will read just about anything and at the moment is just finishing Catch 22 to get started on L'Etranger. My favorite poems are 'This side of the truth' by Dylan Thomas and 'Places I have never travelled' By E.E Cunmings. Edgar Allen Poe is also a firm favorite.
