CURRENT MISSION
World tour for team Martin-Leon
ABOUT ME
Hi!
Just done a bit of a world tour with our daughter (but how accurate can that be? the world is just so big and there's so much more to see!!!) Trying to ensure our daughter gets the very best education that the world has to offer (i.e, experience, spiritual growth, confidence, knowledge, acceptance of culture etc)
I'm a nurse that mainly specialises in autism & learning disabilities. My wife is an occupational therapist so she empowers individuals through various means (currently home adaptations and equipment but more into creative activities!) and our daughter is off to secondary school very soon.
PHILOSOPHY
Aiming for a life of perpetual motion (not necessarily in the physical sense) with enough scope to flow where it will. Life's too short, so why waste it? Both feeling the need to find a worthy purpose and pour our talents into something we can be really proud of...not found our thing yet but we're definitely on the path! Trying to spread the love & be kind in the meantime.
As long as we are healthy and happy, not a lot else matters.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At present, we have foregone our own home to enable the recent trip. Once we have returned from our travels and found ourselves a place of residence we shall wholeheartedly enter into the 'couch' world and assist others as we have been assisted. Who knows where we'll end up living...!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed with a couple of people in India - superb experience...so far had difficulty arranging anything else for various reasons (mostly timing, location and the sheer popularity of couchsurfing!). Certainly looking forward to more though.
Interests
We generally desire to see, learn & experience as much as possible. More specifically (and by no means exclusively or in any particular order) - travel (obviously!), nature, beautiful places, cooking, equality, meaning, fulfillment, arty crafty faffiness, happiness, mind expanding stuff (can't be pigeon-holed into anything less vague), peaceful sighs, weather, biscuits.
Clyde's a mine of useful information, Tanya's a mine of useless information - what a team!
Both real google heads, generally spend way too much time on the internet - in our defense, we inadvertently met through it and maintain a special fondness for it! Plus it teaches us as much as we need to learn about anything we choose - it's the business!

Music, Movies, and Books
Clyde speed reads and whizzes through books now and again, very particular, prefers factual stuff, if the cover doesn't grab him there's no way he'll even try it! (Tanya considers this a bizarre trait for someone so intent on knowledge??!!) Tanya always has a book (or 2, or 3...) on the go and savours every last detail, including the infinite beauty of language construction. Bit of a penchant for Russian literature but not got through too many yet as they're overflowing with intricacies. Generally, won't recall much about a book once read though, frightfully vague memory for someone in their 30s!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Plenty of things that were of the moment but have since slipped into the recesses of our minds to make way for more. Our drive through marriage at dawn in Vegas was pretty cool (especially being heckled by a passer by shouting 'Don't do it dawg' repeatedly to Clyde!!! Charming!)
We think giving up a cushy job and lifestyle was/is pretty exciting...could easily become a habit...
