About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To connect with others of my species

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy-going, recovering hermit. I live in a small solar-powered house on my 300 acre property, Teasing Clouds, by the Fitzgerald River National Park, with wild mallee bush, the Barrens Ranges and the squeaky-white sandy beaches of the Southern Ocean. I'm attempting to live 'the good life', growing my own vegetables, enjoying & learning about the bush, the wildlife and developing a whole lot of practical skills.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have always been open to meeting travellers and have enjoyed most of the couchsurfers who have camped with me. I have lost count of the people who have passed through my life in this way - they stay only a few days & I forget their names but through these contacts I have learnt much about different parts of the world & the issues affecting different people. It is through accidental meeting with travellers that I have learnt about the plight of the Kurds, as well as of liberal, Western-educated Iranians, and Bretons.

Interests

I enjoy nature, the bush, bushwalking, writing, art, reading, gardening, a good natured robust discussion, food and red wine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed Blood Mountain, the second highest mountain in the whole of Georgia, USA.
