About Me

ABOUT ME
* A guy who says improbable things. Who says stuff which turns irony upside down, at the crossroads where bad jokes meet spontaneous joyful smiles :)
* Shy but talky once ice's broken :)
* And, once ice's broken, you'll discover a guy fond of enjoying nature with friends to play and talk, curious about lots of subjects, who cares about well-being and looking for better ways of experiencing life.
* A good day for me can include attending a cultural event, playing a different physical game, sunbathing, fancy (which can be simple) food and lots of smiles.

PHILOSOPHY
* Respect! Being rational and open-minded.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a Belgium guy when I lived in Portugal and a friend of mine several times while in France.
// I was hosted by West African people (who quit CS) while traveling in Southern France.
// I attended a CS meeting in a bar in Paris, which evolved to a private parkour class with a CSer I met there :)

Interests

I am interested in talking with some people quite different from me. It is amazing to discover new perspectives!

Music, Movies, and Books

* I enjoy a mix of classical with pop, rock and electronic music. I currently listen a lot to World End Girfriend.

* I like underground movies and am not able to talk about blockbusters which I'm often unaware of. Pick a theme you're currently caring for in the moment and then a good movie on it, you'll have me :) I also easily give tries to festivals.

* One of my brothers made me watch "Fringe" sci-fi series, and I enjoyed it
* If you know something like "Neon Genesis Evangelion", Hirokazu's "Air Doll" and "Ebicchu," let me know!

* I don't remember the last time I read a fiction book. I'll try to get back to it but for the moment it's been so cool to read what scientists have discovered about the world we live in, like Jared Diamond's books do. Or not obvious travel guides to better understand the places around us.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* I attended a Ariane 5 rocket launching in Kourou, French Guiana.
* 1.5 year backpacking travel in South America.
* Flying over the city of Coimbra in a small plane.
* Taking part in the World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR, Cyclonudista) in Brussels and lots of activities in the nude, like bowling, touch rugby, boat trip, Nordic run competition
* Being in a ferry arriving in Rio when a landing airplane just passed some meters over it: it's insane!!!
* I was a TEDx speaker!
* Swimming in the transparent waters surrounding the awesome Southern French Îles d'Or during a private Mediterranean cruise
* Seven days boat trip in the Amazon river from Belém to Manaus
* Was inside a Portugal Air Force 's fighter aircraft.

* I'm planning to go wwoofing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm learning Esperanto, have been to conversation meetings and picnics in this language community and I'm looking forward to develop my skills in it. It's such a warm community!

I can share views on Brazilian and West European ways of life. Living now in Rio after 9 years in the European Union, differences become more and more blindingly obvious.

I've also experienced lots of events in the unknown naturist subculture and have learnt astonishing lessons far away from the shocking clichés one would expect.
