ABOUT ME

We're two gen-X geeks (Chris Dunphy and Cherie Ve Ard) who are exploring a completely mobile technomadic existence.

(Technomad = technology enabled nomad).

Chris gave up his apartment in San Francisco in 2006 to begin his nomadic journey. Along the way, he and Cherie met, she sold her house in Florida and we hit the road together in 2007.

While in the US, we roam via our uber cool 1961 vintage highway bus that we're geeking out to be high tech home-office on wheels. And every so often we park the bus, and fly off somewhere for a month or two.

We feed our internet hungry laptops with wireless broadband to run our small software development company remotely from wherever we are. We create custom software for our clients, write our own line of highly useful mobile apps for travel and do various tech consulting.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're aiming to meet up with cool and interesting people during our travels - other travelers and locals.

As we travel in our bus, we enjoy 'driveway' surfing and being temporary neighbors for a bit. It's so much more fun than staying in RV Parks! Feel free to shoot us an invite if you can park a 35' bus! (We also have a moving couch that we can offer up.)

Got space to host a meet-up/gathering? We love sharing & inspiring. If you'd be up for hosting & coordinating a time & place - we'll be happy to give talks and Q&A sessions about life on the road. We find it's a great way to bring people together!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have stayed with many friends - existing and newly found - during our journey. It has been an amazing experience to be invited into people's driveways & homes and become temporary neighbors for a bit. We love to share stories of our travels, see a slice of our host's lives.

We have also taken friends on the road with us for a few days - and it's a blast!

Cherie enjoys: Fire poi dancing, crafting, cooking, painting toe nails, simplification, design and organizing things.

Chris enjoys: Flying (when traveling via RV, he carries a paramotor with us), geekery, research, jogging and making epic salsa & guacamole.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Just ONE amazing thing? The world is full of amazing things, and we love discovering new ones every day - from the changing colors of the leaves in fall, to glistening sand on a beach to double rainbows on the playa.

We love giving talks about life on the road and inspiring others to live their dreams.

Cherie is a fire poi dancer, and loves teaching others to spin and assisting photographers in learning to capture it on film.

Both Chris and Cherie are technology geeks, and enjoy helping others choose the right technology for their needs.

We can also offer house & pet sitting while we're in an area in exchange for a place to base ourselves out of as we explore an area.
