About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I only hope to be able to go backpacking atleast once a year. That's not very tough right, Darren?

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town, where people are usually at their simplest mind. It's a place unlike those urban cities where people tend to be (I dont mean all) a little bit self-concerned and competitive. Uptown people tend to be more warmth, helpful, and like staying close with people so I think I'm more or less having these characteristics.

I'm a very open person, and like people to be honest. I really like helping people, and enjoy the feeling of being able to help.

I am a buddhist, but I believe on the teachings more than practising it... fyi I'm also not a religion fanatic :) because I believe religion is to provide guidances in life, and helping people to stay hopeful. It's important but there shouldnt be any argument about it because everyone deserves his/her own belief.

I like travelling. I admit that I used to be the typical tourist - doing nothing more than snapping pictures and go. Kinda lame isnt it? I'm trying to do a little bit more now, being in part of the culture I'm exposed to while travelling, mixing in between local people and sometimes living with them. Isnt it what couchsurfing is for?

PHILOSOPHY

Equality, freedom/personal rights, and respect.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Started from a friend and later got to know more when I heard more from people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think I am still very new with couchsurfing. Havent done much except hosted a friend whom I met on plane, and being hosted by a family in Indonesia while I travelled to Jakarta. Nice family and first time is always more unforgettable :)

Anyway, I will be going backpacking this mid year, to a few places in Eastern Europe. Havent really decided the places, will be kinda go with the flow. But I wish to know more about the culture in this region. Also I would be taking the trans-siberian railway from Moscow, to Mongolia and Beijing. Hope to be able to meet some great people in couchsurfing community

Interests

Like most people, my interests are kinda 'mainstream': watching movies, musics, travelling, photography.

  • culture
  • photography

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Almost all

Books: Fictions, History, Self, General Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got my open water diving license last year and now able to dive in the water above 18m. It's a great experience and I would definitely wanna do more than that

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested in cultural differences, and will have some stories to share especially when you're travelling to my country, Malaysia. It is a community mixing people of Malay, Chinese, and Indian descendants so abit of a melting pot society.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Denmark, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Malaysia, Singapore
