About Me

Celebra La Vida

ABOUT ME

Currently working in accounting, I was an accounting graduate of Atlanta's Georgia State University #PantherFamily , formerly of the rowing team (rowsteadystate.com) and a big supporter of our university arts, esp. the radio station. I love living in The A, albeit equaled by my other former residences: North Carolina and Costa Rica.

PHILOSOPHY

We may have come here on different ships, but we're in the same boat now - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My household hosts when we can, I surf, and I enjoy the CS meet ups as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Got started 3/18/2014.. My friend had an account first, so we used hers originally for surfing. Positive experience in Austin, TX, and we've enjoyed our surfers in ATL.

Interests

Espanol; guitar and making music; comedy; International cultures, small business and entrepreneurship -- particularly in the Atlanta area and frequently in areas such as tourism, film and television production, music, and design.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Locally 89.3 WRFG.. I stream [http://www2.gsu.edu/~www885/] or [wknc.org].. I'm a sucker for pop, and hip hop. Some western/country-rock. reggaeton of course and reggae or mexicana or classical or jazz.. well yeah there's a lot of good stuff out there.
Book - Wild Fermentation -- This is a good one. It's about gardening and farming at home. Teaches you how to make your own fizzy ciders with things like pineapples, peppers, or bananas, or whatever you have around. It also outlays the history of the valuable natural foods to civilization. Hearts of palm, for example, were once regarded in subtropical Central America as worthy of worship second only to gods..
Movie - I think I love that future Arrested Development movie (that hasn't been announced yet)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was inches away from a baby fer-de-lance during a hike from Monteverde to El Castillo (Arenal) in Costa Rica. Since baby venomous snakes can't control their venom, they are particularly dangerous, especially if they feel threatened. Yet my fellow traveler and our guide calmly maneuvered away and continued on. Phew!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I know Atlanta pretty darn well. I think if you've never been here or you haven't been here in a while, you're in for a boatload of pleasant surprises if you know where to go. With whatever free time I've got I can help surfers with that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Iceland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Costa Rica, United States
