About Me

Hello!

I am an avid world traveler who loves meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I have lived in multiple cities in the U.S. (Boston, DC, Baltimore) and spent a year living in Madrid, Spain while at university. I love languages and take any chance I can to practice my French and Spanish.

I have visited 34 countries across six continents and the top of my list for places to visit next includes China and India.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently decided to launch a new business with my friend here in Baltimore based around community and reciprocity, so I am delighted to be part of the Couchsurfing network. In May we plan to visit Amsterdam, Oslo, and Frankfurt to learn from other cultures and stay with other Couchsurfers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all types of music, although recently I have found classical to be the most relaxing. (I am often stressed, so I am trying to practice mindfulness, meditation, etc.)

I love reading, especially nonfiction (biographies, American and world history, etc.) One of my favorite books is "West with the Night" by Beryl Markham.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the incredible fortune to visit Aleppo, Syria in 2010, just before the civil war began. We stayed in a converted palace that was the most wonderful hotel I've ever seen and got to visit the famous covered souk (the largest in the world). I will always remember the kindness and hospitality of those we met. Unfortunately, I believe almost everything that we saw has now been destroyed. It is heartbreaking, but I will always carry fond memories with me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I'm staying: my enthusiasm and joy in learning about other's interests, stories, and cultures. I am glad to share my own stories of my life, projects I have worked on, cities I have lived, and places I have visited. And hopefully some jokes that aren't too terrible! I will provide endless thanks and appreciation for hosting. Plus, an invitation for me to host you if you come to Baltimore!

If I'm hosting: a tour of Baltimore from someone who knows it inside and out, good and bad! I love the city and showing guests the fun, quirky neighborhoods we have - not to mention the delicious food and drinks.
