About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to seek out new life in the remote reaches of couches everywhere

ABOUT ME

I am patiently waiting until my next chance for adventure, wherever it may be. I love cheese.

PHILOSOPHY

i just love. that's it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i've hosted mad folks when i lived in yosemite, and had mad good times, yo. and i finally surfed a couch! Thanks Sarah!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i've stayed with a family in Ireland whose daughter i met in Spain - they were fabulous and I loved helping out in the garden. I stayed with some blokes in Cambridge who I also met in Spain, they were really gracious hosts. I crashed in Germany on a US Army base with my soldier friend. Spent a cold night on the sidewalk in Lyon and wandered around helplessly until I found my friend there. I've hosted loads of folk at my place in yosemite, and itching for more. bring it on!

Interests

playing frisbee, smiling, wine, hiking, people, music, reading, good conversation, humor, cheese, writing, messing up beds, sneaking into pools of the nicer hotels in ensenada while avoiding midget security guards and singing the spanish snippets of pixies songs.

Music, Movies, and Books

rock, alt-rock, post-rock, indie-rock, electro-rock, euro-rock, butt-rock, punk-rock, etc... i don't know, built to spill, quasi, elliott smith, pavement, pixies, catherine wheel, bunky, lcd soundsystem, the knife, passion pit...

some authors i like: neal stephenson, v s naipaul, jeanette winterson, shakespeare, bill bryson, john ford, john updike, dave eggers, classics, neo-classics, cyberpunk, noir (especially chandler and hammett), you know, leafy things with words.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona was the most amazing man-made place I have ever been, but nature blows all man-made objects away. In 2011 I thru-hiked all 2181 miles of the Appalachian Trail, which pretty much blew my mind.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Ecuador, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
