Overview
About Me
I feel comfortable/wild in open fields and am all about being surrounded by mountains. I go by Ted (my middle name). I'm addicted to learning new things, especially when it has to do with ethics, education, automation, politics, or booze. Laughing so hard you can't breathe is definitely a fave. When it comes down to it though, I'm energetic, goofy, (com)passionate, sarcastic and always stoked to host good people or surf!
CURRENT MISSION
Design and develop meaningful, interactive experiences / Fixate on, create, & contribute to good initiatives and groups of people
PHILOSOPHY
Simply put, I try my utmost to do good and bring joy into the world around me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host and I surf! Simple as that. It all started when I got the chance to travel around New Zealand for a few months and this is when I decided to take the dive into the CS community and no regrets were had. Since then I have had a heck of a time meeting, learning, and sharing with incredible people thanks to this site and international community.
These days, I don't really have much space to host people, but I find myself helping in-transit surfers by filling the role of last minute city and social tour guide.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Over the last several years, it's been been many things. I've hosted / surfed dozens of times and have loved 99.9999...% of it. Beautiful, informative, wild, challenging... these experiences have helped and changed me in so many ways.
IMPORTANT
I'm already a maybe when it comes to hosting due to my small apartment and semi-busy schedule. If you do not mention a reason why you'd like to stay with me and/or why our paths crossing lead to an awesome experience, it's pretty guaranteed that I'll be clicking the "decline" button. Sorry, but, like I said up above, I'm all for meaningful experiences. If you're looking for a free / cheap place to crash, keep checking elsewhere in the Memphis CS community or head on over to AirBnB!
Interests
Eating, futball, singing, cooking, kayaking, kimchi, ted talks, volleyball, dancing, jumping off stuff (bridges, waterfalls, etc!), singing, beer, volunteer work, RPGs, frisbees, education, nerdy computer talk, NPR, super cool hand shakes...
I might not be good at everything, but for goodness sake I love to learn! So yeah, I'm pretty much down to clown.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'll give you three! How about that?
1) Conquered a glacier
2) Punched an evil squirrel
3) Ran along the Great Wall and through some creepy guard towers on my lonesome (& at 2 am) to rescue a lost iPhone
Teach, Learn, Share
YES, YES, YES. I couldn't like this aspect of the CS community any more.
What I Can Share with Hosts
So, as mentioned before, I was a music major in uni. My focus was vocal performance, so if you're feelin the need to brush up on your already angelic vocals, I would be more than willing to supply a quick voice lesson, possibly followed by a karaoke session, or teach you a thing or two about web development / graphic design. Warning, though, I feel quite strongly that education and celebrating should go hand in hand. I would also be more than willing to offer up China, Korea, India, New Zealand, SEA, or European travel tips to anyone is interested in said places!
Finally, I'm always down to be a temporary beer, wine, drink delivery boy or fried chicken chef! Cause food and drinks are always good, right?
