About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel as cheaply as possible... and have the most fun possible. :D

ABOUT ME

I enjoy being unique and I strive to be upbeat as much as possible. I relish the beauty of nature and art, but I am also a video game addict...with my friends.

I'm an honest thinker with an itch to buy people a beer and ask about their life story. I used to be in a ska band. I am an Eagle scout. I've lived in Pennsylvania and Virginia - thus I appreciate the lack of mosquitos in the winter. I freaking love nature and computers - and I can talk for a while about transhumanism and technoglobalism etc. I kinda wish I had robot legs.

PHILOSOPHY

Write or be written.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I have never had time to travel before, so I was available for hosting for a while, but I didn't get any visitors. Now - I surf! I've gone to a meeting in Berlin and surfed in parts of Germany, Belgium, and Netherlands so far. It's awesome! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm just starting out! I had an amazing time surfing in Dusseldorf Germany and Antwerp Belgium! Edit: and ghent, brussels, utrecht, eindhoven, maastricht, lueven, oostende, london, norwich, dublin, and paris.

Interests

Hiking, sight seeing, meeting people, listening to cool music (I have plenty to share!), and I'm also a computer geek (go Reddit!). Poetry: I have a poetry website where I write poetry for people that request it! poemsforall.com I can be happy anywhere if I just have someone to talk to and go on crazy adventures with! I love spontaneous people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Okay, I'm going to update this with a list of my latest favorite bands in NO order. (I am probably missing some!)

Tom Petty, Billy Joel, Fever Ray, Girl Talk, Daft Punk, Blues Traveler, White Stripes, Gorillaz, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Lily Allen, Beatles, Bob Marley, Clint Mansell + Orchestra, Police, Madness, Skatalites, Toasters, Massive Attack, Mickey Avalon, Pixies, Modest Mouse, Ben Folds, Queen, R.E.M., Röyksopp, Sara Bareilles and more more more.

Favorite Soundtracks: Little Miss Sunshine, Magnolia, and The Life Aquatic.
Movies: Anything funny or just mindblowing. My favorite movie is Magnolia (even though it has Tom Cruise) and I love Will Ferrel movies (Anchorman, anyone?).
Okay! That's all for now.

Books: Everything from Nabokov to Orson Scott Card. I can read for dangerously long periods of time. ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in East Anglia, England for three months was amazing.

Cruising around Santorini and Mykonos islands in Greece... gorgeous.

Wandering Stockholm and Berlin alone. :D

Working at a horse farm in the middle-of-nowhere Germany for two weeks.

Experiencing carnaval in Maastricht, Netherlands in its entirety. And also hitchhiking through a few countries etc etc..

Teach, Learn, Share

I have lots to offer, just ask! Im not afraid of cleaning, but if I make food -be careful, I usually make food according to instructions and I have quickly found that instructions in German and French often lead me to burn or ruin food.

I can teach you about my past mistakes such as dating a compulsive liar, driving a dozen hours without sleeping, hiking without a compass in a storm and many more... okay, maybe I shouldn't tell you about all my mistakes!

I'd love to try some unique foods if you know any.

I've got some crazy stories to share!

Countries I’ve Visited
