PHILOSOPHY
"When each day is the same as the next, it's because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises."
-Paulo Coelho
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love participating in Couch Surfing; I think it's amazing, have met some great people while doing so, and have made some wonderful and lasting friends from it. We're on a hosting hiatus at the moment, as I gave birth to my first son in April 2016! We're focusing on raising him and getting him to sleep through the night at the moment, so it's very difficult to host right now.
I've only surfed a few times but I've hosted people, and it's been amazing so far! Every person I've met has been an absolute joy, I'm extremely excited to keep doing it.
I've also participated on my own. When I had my booking agency, my home was a halfway house for bands on tour. If you need a place to crash, my couches, floor, shower, and kitchen are here for your disposal.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All of the people I've hosted so far have been amazing. I'm looking forward to hosting more and meeting new people, and to start surfing more myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've stayed the night in the Amazon Rainforest (hammock and all) and went alligator hunting at 3 in the morning on the Amazon River. I've also read "Atlas Shrugged" in its entirety; getting through Part I is a huge accomplishment in and of itself. I was also able to read through "The Hobbit" and the "Lord of the Rings" series in one month.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm willing to give new surfers a chance, even those who don't have much experience which means they have few references; but you need to fill out your profile so I know who you are. It's one thing to host a stranger and a completely different thing to host someone you know NOTHING about. Providing a link to a Facebook account or something similar will help a prospective host feel much more comfortable. Also, though your main purpose of being on CouchSurfing may be to surf, which means you do not host very often, as hosts many of us don't enjoy seeing a potential surfer's profile who has responded to 0% of requests. Even if you are unable to host a potential surfer, taking the time to respond to their requests is a large part of the community and shows respect for someone else's time.
