About Me

CURRENT MISSION

let me send you letters. also, let me house you.

ABOUT ME

I am currently studying feminist theology at the Graduate Theological Union in north Berkeley, alongside accumulating my hours to become a certified massage therapist. I am interested in the intersection of gender, power, and healing for those that need it most in the world. I live with my partner, who left his job as a kindergarden teacher to come to school here with me. We are both seasoned couch-surfers with many stories, love of company, and familiarity with wanderlust.

PHILOSOPHY

"No one ever said that you would live to see the repercussions of everything you do, or that you have guarantees, or that you are not obliged to wander in the dark, or that everything will be proved to you and neatly verified like something in science. Nothing is: at least nothing that is worthwhile. I didn't bring you up only to move across sure ground. I didn't teach you to think that everything must be within our control or understanding."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

my close friend and I traveled together three years ago using this profile jointly, therefore a lot of the recommendations I have include her. Here is the link to her profile, http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/brienj.

I would like to participate more. Couchsurfing excites me, and I spread the word far and wide. While I was living in Brooklyn, I hosted some really beautiful people during the summer of 2011. It was through couchsurfing that I met my partner, Karl, and we live together in Berkeley now. Needless to say, I've had nothing but wonderful, life-expanding experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

a few pleasant nights in montreal, an laborless labor day in duluth, last minute surf in portland, riding out tornados in sedona, veggie burgers and a birthday in santa fe, riding in trucks and playing with dogs in amarillo, and a night of repose in memphis

Music, Movies, and Books

whatever I may find that pulls me open like a black hole arranging every single cell into better, more complicated, and beautiful patterns.
