About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Change myself to change the world. Become open-minded: check. Travel and meet other cultures: in process!

ABOUT ME

Sigh... what I say here depends on many parameters such as the weather and my mood :P. But I know myself pretty well. Let's see. I am unique and special (as probably everyone), but you need to get to know me very well to realize in which way I am original. Sometimes unpredictable and weirdo (in the good way), some others too logic and control freak like Mr. Grey. A bit formal and shy at the beginning (specially in small groups), and little childish and very passionate in confidence.
I enjoy challenges. I dream of a better world. And I fight for it. I love coincidences, parallelisms and small details of life.

I went to Copenhagen as exchange student during my 4th year in Physics, and my life changed dramatically. I got addicted to travelling, and I decided to go again as exchange student to San Diego. Back to Spain, I decided to continue my studies in Barcelona. Later on I did research in Fribourg (Switzerland), but since October I moved to Delft to do my PhD.

And one of my wanna-be's could be summarized with the following self-adapted quote from L'Aubergue Espagnole:
"I'm Spanish, Swiss, Californian, Catalonian, Italian, Australian, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Canadian, Turkish, Egyptian, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Check, Bulgarian, Hungarian, German, Danish, British, Brazilian, Serbian, Greek, South Korean, Argentinian, Chilean, Indian, Irish. I'm not one, but many. I'm like Europe, I'm all that. I'm a real mess. I'm he, and he, and her, and her, and he. And I'm also that child I used to be."

PHILOSOPHY

You are the owner of your future.
Junsuina kodomo to samurai no kokoro.
(South) European power!
Let's go to Guantanamo!!
I write Experience with a capital letter.
Let's flow.

Life is undetermined, but biasable or polarizable. Things happen as time passes, and one cannot control the final, precise result; however, one can influence it macroscopically or even with small details and actions.

I have always been curious, eager of learning, and attracted by new experiences and challenges that usually required more skills that I had.
When I was younger, I wanted to become a philosopher. I envied how intellectuals in the past dedicated so much time to understand the Universe. Particularly, I respected those people that provided ideas and thoughts in multiple disciplines: old thinkers that are remembered as experts as much in Maths as in Music, that revolutionized Science with a new explanation of a physical phenomenon while having fun as one more and actively fought for a better world.
I want to leave a mark for something useful to humankind as well. But that usually is not something one just looks for directly. Actually it should be the other way: one gets inspired by the world as a whole while improving oneself little by little in particular skills, and has to be awake for the opportunity and to be formed enough to deal with it. But how to combine the current model of society with the creativity and cross-disciplinary learning that allowed normal people to make the difference and contribute greatly to the humankind of the yesteryear?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I attended some CS meetings in London and Fribourg; and I was hosted in Basel for 7 days! I joined a CS event in Tarifa in 2013 as well :)

Interests

I have a passion for Science and keeping up to date with society. I enjoy reading about advances technology, and following news, discussing about politics, and doing activism. Also I like challenges and the process of mastering new skills. My favorite hobby is getting experience and applying it to life. Discovering new cultures like the Japanese and Swiss ones fascinates me, and so does traveling around the world.

And taking the advantage of the new changes, I want to experience more the nature thing: hiking, exploring, and maybe climbing. Definitively, some changes will come up in my lifestyle soon :)
