Hello! My name is Tegan and I was born and raised on the lovely Sunshine Coast in BC, Canada.

(Fun fact: my parents named me after a Doctor Who Character)

I went to University in North Vancouver for the Global Stewardship program.
I am currently in nursing school in Vancouver.

I have always had wanderlust, and was bitten by the travel bug many years ago. Sadly, I have always been to nervous to travel solo, until now!

My family is a very non-traveling family.

I have traveled to the UK three times and Tanzania once. I was a volunteer Child Development worker with CANADARES and Vijaliwa Vinji Society. It's a great program in Mlandizi working with street children. I am super passionate about it and still involved from a distance. (Here's their website if you're interested! http://www.canadares.ca)

I live with 11 people and we are the best of friends and best functional yet dysfunctional family. We take care of each other and somehow the dishes are always done. Each week we have a big family dinner where we all take time from our separate, hectic schedules to sit down and have a big meal together.

One of my roommates has gotten me into yoga and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

I love hearing and sharing stories and discussing the philosophical.

Growing up on the sunshine coast I was immersed in the Sechelt Fist Nations culture where stories are very important.

I have a huge bucket list, but I'm not in any hurry.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a friend named Thor who is very inspirational for me. He has traveled all over the world, and when he isn't pitching tents in random fields or on beaches, he's connecting with really neat and wholesome individuals on CouchSurfing.
