About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

You can call me by my nickname "Teh". I love a simple life, having a good cup of coffee in the morning, playing with my dogs, looking after the plants in my garden, then teaching music during the day which I enjoy so much. In the afternoon, I used to go jogging just to keep in shape. Now I do mountain bike riding with my wife, it's more fun. At weekends, I sometimes have one nice glass of red wine with dinner, read some music books, and maybe write music. Food is really not a big thing for me but I'm careful to what I eat. I used to hang out a lot but now I'm a family-man kind of guy.

I used to perform music 2-5 nights a week with my Jazz band in several pubs for about 15 years ('91-'06). In 2003, my wife, Bella, and I opened a music school named "Woranan School of Music" here in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It could be the first Jazz-oriented school in Thailand. We've been very lucky. For 8 years, we create a lot of talents for our music community.

We voluntarily created a special music programs for the Juvenile Delinquent Center since 2009, and also for the blind people at the Vocational Training Center for the Blind. Every year we organize a charity concerts to help these programs.

I guess I'm so lucky to have a great family. My wife is a voice teacher. She sings Jazz, Blues, and Pop. My son is studying Jazz piano in Mahidol University in Bangkok. My lovely little girl likes singing and dancing. We sometimes perform together in concerts.

Check us out on youtube.com under "Woranan School of Music".

Enjoy!

PHILOSOPHY

"Life is a lot like Jazz... It's best when you improvise."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was introduced to CouchSurfing by a good friend who is already a couchsurfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only two so far, on September 2, 2011, I hosted two CS from Austria. They were really nice. I took them out for a few drinks and to listen to Jazz music in my town. A few days later, we had lunch together. They are good kids. I like them. Last week, I had coffee and a really nice conversation with H.B. Bucker from Amhurst, Massachusetts, U.S.A. We also jammed a few songs together. He played piano. Great and easy going guy!
