ABOUT ME

I am a soon-to-be middle aged girl at heart who still wants to see the world. I am very tall, outgoing, and (I like to think) intelligent. I host exchange students and teach World Cultures and Geography. I am mature but still like to have a good time. I always laugh at myself and never take myself too seriously. There's still so much to see and do!

PHILOSOPHY

Ok, here are my two cliches: 1) life is a journey, not a destination and, 2) mi vida loca. Life is crazy. Live it anyway. Don't be afraid to take chances. Some of the most amazing discoveries in the history of the world were made by chance and accident. Have a smile for everyone and don't judge people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's very important to me to meet people wherever I travel, not just rush in and out of tourist traps. I would love to offer a fellow traveler that same opportunity. I donate when I can and spread the word to anyone who will listen.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had only GREAT experiences in the U.S and in Europe. I find that CSers are friendly and helpful. I try to be the same when people surf with me!

Interessen

I LOVE History! Of course museums are a draw for me but I also love learning about other cultures. Social history is the most interesting type of history to me. I hated reading as a kid but have started to enjoy it more lately. I like movies and music of course and definitely i love exploring the big, awesome world.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I read mostly historical fiction for myself, but sadly I must admit I read a lot of Middle School literature! Since I teach it and my daughter is that age, it presents itself quite often. But I love a good story no matter the reading level :) I read all the Twilight books, all the Harry Potter's...no shame!! Some of my favorite are A Thousand Splendid Suns, Three Cups of Tea, the Kiterunner. Most recently... The Canterbury Tales!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I've always wanted to climb a Mayan temple and I got to do that last year. Way cool. On the same trip I got to zipline throught the rainforest there in Belize. Spending time with my daughter in Europe (she was 13) was great, too. I saw how mature she really can be and it was a wonderful bonding experience for us!

I find that I know a lot of history and severely random facts. Maybe I can tell you something you didn't already know?? Mostly I try to make people laugh!
