About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I plan travelling in order to get rid of negative thoughts, clear my mind and gain peace anc confidence!

ABOUT ME

I am a normal guy, who likes reading, traveling and having a nice talk with a cup of wine. I am a fanatic reader and I also collect books in an obsessive way. I love robots, ancient tin toys, which I also collect (when they are not too expensive!). I love to make people laugh and I consider myself a good listener.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that life is about being necessary to other people, not only as an egocentric thing but in order to make happy the people around you. So being missed but someone, and also missing somebody, means you had a positive impact on that person!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I plan traveling I would love people offering their place. I will visit cities which I have never seen before, but which I read a lot about it probably! So I offer my literary experience to anyone who wants to show me their thoughts on literature, culture and art in general.

Interests

Lately I've been researching about Culture Studies, mainly studying Pop music and culture related to other "higher" types of arts. I am also interested in migratory studies, post-colonialism and the impact of movement in the mind of the moved.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: (hard to say, but lately I've been reading...) Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon, The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie, A Berlin Childhood around 1900 by Walter Benjamin. Anything written by: Josep Pla, Adorno, Melville, Kerouac, Fante, Joyce, Cortázar, Borges, Foucault, Miller, Whitman, Bourdieu, Fanon, Pound, Dante, Borroughs, Goethe, Frost, Chandler, Greene, Austen, T.S. Eliot, Shakespeare, Baudelaire... (and more, more, more and more)

Music: MGMT, Vampire Weekend, Crystal Fighters, Foals, Franz Ferdinand, The Cure, Adolescents, Black Flag, Queens of the Stone Age, Crystal Castles, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who, Exploited, Paul Kalkbrenner, Explosions in the Sky...

Movies: Everything about Antonioni, Passolini and Hitchcock and some Francis Ford Coppola, Kubrick, Tarantino and Godard.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Been hiking in Atlas Mountains (Morocco) and fall terribly sick, high temperature at a rocky desert, had been evacuated by locals on a horse to the nearest village, spend in a house three days getting better and took back to Marrakech on a tumultuous trip on Jeep. And nobody accepted my money.

2. Loving a girl at the sunset on a fabulous beach near where I live, in amazing Costa-Brava (Check it out if you don't know it!).

Teach, Learn, Share

-Some notions of philosophy, based on my readings.
-Thoughts about culture and their impact on our mind.
-Hating capitalism and being a neo-luddite.
-Playing bass
-Improving your reading with other points of views, and some of your writing too (that will be tricky because of the language), as far as you teach me too if you are a writer!
