Getting used to the idea of being parents to our newborn son. Grow some roots somewhere after a lot of traveling.

ABOUT ME

We are a German-American couple, now even with a little son. But we are still trying to figure out the way to live that suits us. I am a computer guy and Kim is an Architect. We both love travelling and nature. We prefer bamboo huts and independent travel over 5-star hotels and package tours. We both are more quiet types than party maniacs.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

On a road trip I enjoyed the really outstanding hospitality of the people in Central Asia, especially in countries like Iran and Pakistan, and it inspired me to get involved with the couchsurfing community and start hosting.

We enjoyed hosting while living in Chiang Mai. Later we traveled the world again and enjoyed the other side of the experience by being guests.

Now we found a new home in Heidelberg - by Couchsurfing! After realizing that our host in Heidelberg is about to leave town a few months later we took over his rental contract and now we live here.

兴趣

Everything outdoors: Cycling, hiking, enjoying wonderful beaches, exploring new cities. Travelling, Photography. And computer stuff: electronics, linux.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The mass release of 5000 little hot air balloons in Mae Jo for the Thai Loy Krathong festival. Feeling the intense heat of the many thousands of flames all around, standing right in the middle of a cloud of light.

Sitting in the plane to Bangkok with nothing more than a one-way ticket, my backpack and some ideas in mind. No house, no job, no return date.
