ABOUT ME

I'm travelling to Spain to walk the Camino and intend having a few days in Portugal at the end of my journey. I'm travelling with my sister Vicki. We both have families with - more or less - grown up kids, and see the Camino as a fantastic opportunity to see an amazing part of the world, have a whole lot of experiences and make new friends. I live in Wellington, New Zealand, the capital city. I'm working as a guidance counsellor in a large inner city co-educational school. I have a partner and three children.

PHILOSOPHY

I enjoy meeting people and learning more about them and their world. I have a strong sense of community about the way I live my life - and work to ensure we are always striving for a fairer and more just world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking for hosts in Spain and Portugal. Back in New Zealand, my partner and myself are keen to host travellers. Couch surfing is a great way to meet a whole lot of new people and make new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I don't have any but my partner recently travelled across North America and he couch surfed in many cities he visited.

I like walking (!), music, theatre and socialising! I love hanging out with my family and friends.

I love reading quality fiction and have a wide range of interests in terms of authors and styles. I don't go to the movies much but do enjoy watching independent films - including a whole range of New Zealand movies.

I don't intend to counsel people when I travel but I'm an experienced counsellor who has helped a lot of people over the years to help themselves. I'm always happy to listen to people if they feel they want to talk to me.
