About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Expand, Grow, Learn!

ABOUT ME

I work in the medical industry currently and prior was a Postpartum Doula for 15 years.

I love to travel. I LOVE people, places, cultural experiences. In the past I did some work in the field of Ecological Anthropology including work with Building Without Borders.

As you can tell from my images I am a NATURE girl! All of the images posted were taken here close to my home in Marin County!

I live in a spacious one bedroom bay view condo. (Sorry no guest room) It is in a small building NOT a HUGE complex, so it is peaceful and I know all of my neighbors. I have deer and often fawns in my backyard year round. Plenty of space in the main room for guests. Overall, the place is warm, cozy and quaint.

My home is close to mountain bike and foot trails, kayaking and many other outdoor activities. I love cooking and love learning NEW ethnic dishes and cuisine. If you stay with me you will eat well and healthful....organic, non GMO, no antibiotics or hormones etc.

My home is just North of the Golden Gate so you will have easy access into San Francisco via the ferry.

Activities; I love music, literature, art, food and fine chocolate. I am a BIG supporter of local arts and handmade. Happy to share any of this while you visit.

I have a great outdoor space., large deck for chill time. No tobacco, but 420 friendly.

PHILOSOPHY

"Everything is figure-out-able!" "Everyone loves being on top of the Mountain, but most of the joy in life comes from climbing it"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am interested in hosting so that others can experiencing what I believe to be one the most AMAZING places on the planet. I typically host 2 to 3 times per year. I did not host for the last 2 years because I had a very demanding job, but I have recently transitioned out of that job.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted about 15 people so far, including individuals and couples. Each experience has been truly enjoyable. I especially love hosting people from others countries for a cross cultural experience. Sharing recipes, cooking together and learning about each others culture.

I also believe that travel is one of the best educations life has to offer and I love helping in making someone's travel goals happen, who otherwise may not be able to afford to travel as vastly or at all.

Currently I don't host a lot because I am working a lot of hours and my career is full fledged.

Interests

Hiking, kayaking, Swimming ( My place has a VERY large pool I forget to mention...which you will have access to while staying here, as well as laundry facilities) Anything nature oriented.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Akira Kirosawa films usually I go for foreign and indie films. I don't own a T.V. I divorced it years ago! I LOVE books, but spend most of my time these days reading business books. Books-Left To Tell(one of the BEST books I have read in a LONG time)Oil, War and the Fate of Industrial Society by Richard Heinberger, Power Down by same author, Authors- Joseph Conrad, C.S. Wells, Tom Robbins.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw ten humback whales on a whale wathing tour a few years back..on a boat just off the continental shelf in teh S.F B Bay. It was amazing! My stay in Costa Rica was the richest of all of my travels. Every experience was mind blowing and the people...The Best ever!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot of the local plants and herbs in the area and am happy to engage in a nature hike with you to explore local botanicals. (The flora and fauna here are amazing)I am also happy to direct you with resorces and activies based on your personal interest & desires. I know much more about Marin Country though than San Fran. But there are plenty of guides for the city. And of course I stay up to date on the music scene here, so can guide you to what you desire. We also have a great indie film theater, lots or art and wine shows and many other cultural activities I can guide you with.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have only stayed with one CS friend and it was someone I hosted previously and had already met. I shared wine & wisdom (or not) I can cook and clean anytime.
