About Me

Cultivating the best of me as a garden spot to share with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to work in corporate IT departments, in the middle of big cities made of metal and glass and asphalt . People got in their petroleum guzzling plastic and metal encased internal combustion engines on four wheels, went to work, and went home the same way. Then they did the same thing the next day.

It was like eating a Tootsie Roll Pop, only to find nothing at all at the center. I was the Tootsie Roll Pop.

Eureka! I had discovered Samsara.

I upgraded to Nirvana.

Instead of manifesting life as glass, metal, asphalt , internal combustion engines and general Moloch, all that energy is now a beginningless and endless Cornucopia of opportunity to enjoy experiences and share with the rest of the beautiful, confusing, beguiling and happiness-loving world.

Thus, Travel should be about discovering the Treasures of Others - a sense of a place is imbued with the people whose lives shape and color it.

Experience, not things, create meaning. May a good time be had by all.

Interests

People. Really it is all about people, how they interact with the environment, the other people and living creatures, each other, themselves, and the new and the old and the future of it.

The art and the science and what people create and build with it as a self expression of their view of self and others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I changed the world as you know it by an introduction of two people, who were looking for the other.

Teach, Learn, Share

It starts with asking the right question.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Fresh Portland roaster's coffee. Equilibrium. An open heart and atuned ear.
