ABOUT ME

I really enjoy and get excited when I think about traveling, meeting new people, seeing how life is "on the other side". It is amazing that there are so many ways to looking at life, languages, foods, values, cultures, art styles. I have been spoiled because I lived in Italy for 10 years and traveled non stop to many Italian towns large and small, visited most European countries (East,West,Central,North and South). I am a member of another travel club (Servas International) and this allegiance allowed me the ability to stay in people homes and exchange ideas and to see "really how people live". I traveled in Europe when it was more affordable and a "good deal" could be had by purchasing a month long all country Eurail pass. I am an Italophile because my heart strings got pucked many times a day while I lived and worked there by it's food, art, cobblestone streets, beautiful people and the dicotomy in their values, and their systems of work, government and socializing, plus "the family". I had curbed my international traveling somewhat to raise a family but now I am a newly "empty nester" and am compelled to start up my adventures once more. I naturally have a totally adventurous spirit a burning desire to seek out new discoveries.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couch surfing and am exploring this website and will join some of the groups. I advocate Couch Surfing and my other travel club to people whom I meet to encourage this type of travel and lifestyle.

I am interested in art, food, health, exercise, aliveness.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy many type of music, I like comedy and drama in movies. One of my favorite movies is Naked Gun with Leslie Nielson. Currently my favorite TV show is "The Mentalist" and I enjoy watching Seinfeld reruns.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen Elvis in concert in Chicago shortly before his death. I lived in Italy for 10 years. I have a raised an amazing child. Last week I visited "Falling Water" house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. I have taken a couple of Carribean cruises. I learned Italian. I have been on the top of a glacier in the Italian Alps. I have a doctoral degee.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Italian. Meditation has helped me immensely and in a brief time get me to a much better place internally - and most of it is based on your breath.
