About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be as pleasing to our Heavenly Father as we can. To be totally off the grid.To continue to garden organic. To meet people everywhere and learn lost 'cures' wherever we are.

ABOUT ME

We love company, meeting new people, and we love to travel, so this is a great way to be able to do both. We travel off the beaten track, but still enjoy the tourist spots. Travel for us consists of driving through the day, and stopping frequently for photos. I believe that there is a great photo anywhere at any time, I just have to learn how to see it and then take it.
Any opportunity to go anywhere we have not been is where we want to go. The world is such a fabulously big place.
Jack loves to golf, so this is our trade off. He drives so I can take lots of pictures, and I arrange Tee times for him at some amazing courses all over the world.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that we are not born by accident or by a random lottery. We are born with a purpose given by the Creator. So our goal is to make Him smile at us as much as possible when He watches us because we have chosen to make right decisions that please Him. Simple philosophy. Not so simple to carry out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We live in a secluded area of southern Illinois, in the Shawnee forest, so have only had an opportunity to host only once. It was a good experience. They were different from us ( who isn't) so the conversations were lively and interesting. We learned a lot. We look forward to doing more hosting. Our goal here is to eventually have a bed and breakfast/off the grid learning seminar/hands on learning center to share the knowledge we have with others about simple, DIY solar power, heat, and water, wind power, organic gardening, and animal care and use including milking goats lessons. I wish I could have found someone like us years ago. We could have eliminated so much of the TRIALS and ERRORS! When we travel, we are always looking and learning how other countries live off the land. Americas ways are expensive. Most of the rest of the world accomplishes the same end result much simpler. It has been a wonderful experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted only once , as we live in a not well traveled area of the US, but we have surfed quite a bit. Most of this was in France. It was an exhilarating trip to say the least. We met amazing people, learned so much, and found out that people are people, no matter where they are, or the language they speak. We are looking forward to doing it again.
