About Me

Please read:

1st: I like that surfers present themselves and READ THE WHOLE PROFILE before requesting a stay. I don't like when people are unpolite when it comes to messages (I won't accept guests who write generic texts or send one sentence as a request) and I don't like to be seen as a hostel as my house is not one. I am here to help people because I want, and therefore, I want to be respected. If you want a room, go for a hostel. If you want to get to know locals and share time, and culture and give a bit of help around the house, you're welcome to stay with me!

2nd: After some experiences, I saw that some couchsurfers leave here food that they bought because they don't want to take it/forget it (although I say I won't consume it), some leave here their own stuff, some leave the shower full of hair, some leave here their garbage. Please be responsible and take everything that is yours (food, stuff, hair, garbage, etc) from my place, because I will still be living here after you leave.

Ahoy-hoy! Olá :)

My name is Teresa, but you can call me Leo.
I'm a 28-year-old Portuguese/Swiss girl currently living and working in Berlin.

After a lot of hardship in my life, I am currently getting back to the "normal life" and learning many things along the way :)

My biggest hobby is learning. I love doing online courses, learning languages (and about cultures through traveling), learning to play the bass and the piano, how to massage people, how to solve magic cubes, learning about world politics, philosophy, psychology, interpersonal communication,
learning about technology and event engineering (my job), learning how to cook delicious, nutritious, planet friendly good looking food, sustainable living (reducing waste), going past my limits with
bodyweight training, Jiu Jitsu and Yoga and learning creative stuff like sewing, knitting, dancing, making sculptures, drawing. I love to learn about life, relationships, about how to appreciate every moment and everything that this world has to offer!

I studied Design, and I'm a certified massage therapist. I am currently working as a video technician and plan to study Event/Media Technology next year and specialize in Video Technology, AR/VR and Event Design.
I'd love to have the time to study linguistics as well, as I find the topic super interesting. Maybe in 10/15 years xD

My boyfriend Sven is a german poker player and he is currently living in Innsbruck. We speak every day and we visit each other sometimes :)

My boyfriend and I are very open-minded, free-spirited people who try to make the world a bit better. We try to enjoy life to the fullest and be truthful and honest to ourselves (it does not always work but we do try :D)

I am currently hosting sporadically, as I have no schedule in my work (I can work anytime, from midnight to midnight, 7 days a week) so it is hard to plan too much ahead.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My boyfriend and me want to travel more, and stay by couchsurfers around the world, and get to know what amazing people there is! So, we also want to be one of those people, who can offer a place to stay in exchange for awesome experiences (and some help cooking and cleaning, if you don't mind!)
We would love to get to know you and to hear about your life and I hope we can share knowledge and love and peace!

Sven and Teresa

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: anything, from the 60's/70's/80's/90's to now, from classical to jazz music, from rock/punk to pop/pop rock to electronic/dance (If you put Kraftwerk on, you'll set my dance mode right away). I also like ethnic music (from various countries). Depends on my mood!

Right now my mood is: Masayoshi Takanaka - All of me Album

Movies: Mostly I see documentaries, but if it has a good story and visuals, characters and music, i'm in!
One film i really love is "The Fall", by Tarsem. From soundtrack to story to photography to characters, this film is a beautiful masterpiece! Another film i really love is Metropolis - a beautiful story of understanding and empathy made into one of the most iconic science fiction film ever!! I love independent movies, Italian, French, Indian, Japanese or whatever nationality!

Series:
Anime series, my favorites so far being the Aria series, Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, Clannad and Dr.Stone;
Cartoons, my favorites so far being Avatar: The Last Airbender and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (Please don't laugh! I find it super kawaii!!!);
Live-action series, my favorite of all being 'Allo 'Allo!

Books: I like a lot Dave Eggers as a writer "You Shall Know our Velocity" or "The Circle" are really impactful. I love to read National Geographic magazines manga, personal development books and books that have inspiring stories.
I also love children's books. I think they are very pure, sometimes dark, sometimes inspiring, but they always teach you a lesson. Also, the drawings are beautiful :3 Two I can recommend are "Nero Corleone" by Elke Heidenreich and "O Gato Malhado e a Andorinha Sinhá" by Jorge Amado. I was positively inspired by "Mastery" by Robert Greene, who taught me the stories of great masters and how everyone can become one. "Principles" by Ray Dalio make me rethink how I see my life and how to archieve my goals.
"How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie taught me how to communicate and understand people in a better way.

Apps: Too Good to Go! I use on a regular basis, the concept is fantastic!
And also the Language Transfer App/Website. A one man project, it's a new approach to language learning, where you get taught the logic of a language, and rely less on translation and memorization. My greek is improving with it, totally recommend it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did an exhibition in 2009 (I was 13 years old), with sculptures of cats made of papier maché, and donated all the money to the Animal Protection Society in Portugal (they even exposed one of my pieces in one in their headquarters :D)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the few things I know, but most of all I want you to teach me what you know!

We can have talks about many different topics and we can learn from each other :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to share what I know and also show you this big city of Berlin, which I will show you through my point of view.

I'm open-minded and a good listener and want to keep improving on that, so if you feel comfortable, please share what's in your heart and I'll listen without judgments or filters!
