About Me
Hey guys!
Hola, Oi, Salut!
So I would consider myself a friendly person, always willing to get to know people. I enjoy learning about other cultures, ways of lives and would also love to share mine.
I spent my childhood partially in the Chicago area and then studied middle school and some high school in Jalisco, Mexico. I graduated fairly recently from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Brazil with an M.A. in International Relations. I lived in Barcelona, Spain for a year and am planning to return this year but moving to Alicante. Really hoping to make the most out of this next adventure!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like meeting new people! I hope I can show someone the same great hospitality others have given me on my travels!
I have some experiences with Couchsurfing, since one of my roommates hosted people through Couchsurfing. I thought the idea was pretty neat and was an overall good experience!
Interests
I enjoy cooking and baking when I have time. Cupcakes should be a staple in any diet!
I really enjoy learning new recipes, especially from typical dishes from other cultures! I learned some neat recipes while in Brazil: pão de queijo, brigadeiro, stroganoff, capirinhas, among other...
I like to keep an active lifestyle. During the summer, I like to jog outside, go hiking, have picnics, walk around the city. Be outside, do anything outside really. I find the sun reinvigorating. Winter kinda sucks in Illinois, just cause it can get sooo cold sometimes and the days aren't nearly as long! But, Chicago in the summer is highly recommended!
I like to learn foreign languages! I like meeting people, going out to a bar, or doing whatever, though I probably don't do it as often now with so as I would like.
I reaaaaally enjoy dancing! I love latin music, particularly salsa and bachata. I'm not a pro but I have a great time dancing eitherway!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have very eclectic taste, it kinda depends on my mood. I enjoy foreign music, movies and books as well as American stuff, so if you have any suggestions, let me know!
Books, I like fictions like mysteries. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, is one of my favorites. I also like reading biographies and history books.
Movies, I prefer action, comedy, romantic comedies documentaries and foreign films, but depends on my mood, too. I recently saw a Spanish film, Perdiendo el Norte (Off Course), which I really liked. I know Harry Potter by heart almost. I grew up reading the books and seeing the films. I recently binge-watched Star Wars, which was pretty amazing... I'm 28 and it was about time I saw them.
Music, really depends on my mood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved abroad to Brazil and it has been my best experience thus far!!!
I think one of my most memorable moments was standing in the middle of Iguazu Falls. I was so overwhelmed by the beauty and immensity of everything around me at that moment. Definitely, a must see!! I would never get tired of that view!
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you need a language partner, I would love to help you out! If you are new in town and want to go out for coffee, a walk, get together to cook dinner, go out for lunch, etc.
