About Me

Čau!

I'm a passionate and bubbly life enthusiast that loves a good night-in, loves elephants, board games, book-binding, yoga, and baked goods. I'm a proud Latvian, born and bred, but after three years of living in Cornwall, I graduated the BA Graphic Design course at Falmouth University. Before diving into the industry I went to Southeast Asia for a few months to make some dreams come true and remind myself how wide and wonderful this world is. Now I'm coming back to the UK, and it's time to put my designer hat back on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Despite life in Southeast Asia being significantly more affordable than the one in England, I'm now running very low on funds and need some couches to crash (sorry - surf) before I can find a place on my own again.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music wise I enjoy a bit of everything. A bit of soul and jazz, a bit of rock, a lot of Black Pumas, Queen, Nina Simone and Imants Kalniņš. A bit of Eric Clapton when cooking dinner, and a bif of dodie for when I need a good cry.

Choosing a favourite film is too hard but ''Stand by Me'' and "Little Women" are definitely up there. And I'm always open for new candidates. Same with books, but here I want to say "Svina Garša" (Taste of Lead) and "Eat, Pray, Love" would be near the top (I'm flabbergasted (!) that so many people don't like it).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learned to be grateful for what I've been given before it's too late.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I make some wonderful butternut squash-coconut-chili soup, I could teach you some Latvian, help you with anything that might benefit from my graphic design skills and creative knowledge, and I will happily do all the washing-up!
