About Me
I'm 28, from the tiny island of Malta in the Mediterranean. I'm a lover of food, animals, hiking and the great outdoors. I'm also a fan of DIY - from cooking, to crochet, to gardening, to helping my husband put our home's furniture together when we moved in. I'm the youngest of 4 siblings from (what I think is) the best family in the world, and I get my travel bug and wanderlust from my parents and 3 older brothers who have all lived in all corners of the globe like Brazil, Korea and South Africa, and travelled to countless countries. I've got a lot of catching up to do, as does my husband, so we can't wait to get started.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My husband and I are planning a Round the World trip in 2020. I've travelled a bit around Europe in my 27 years, but never lived abroad. I've known my husband for 11 years, and been married to him for almost 2 of those - and while he moved here from Canada at age 4 he hasn't lived abroad since either. Needless to say, we're going a little stir crazy on this beautiful but small island.
Islander mentalities are narrow, short-sighted and selfish, and we're getting sick of it to be honest. We need to see, learn and experience as much as we can from what the world has to offer if we're going to feel good about ourselves and contribute something to this island when we get back home. This year-long trip is just one, large step towards making travel a more permanent priority in our lives. We won't be travelling at this length again, probably, but it'll sure give us a head start!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - Soundtracks and movie music are what I need while working and writing. Fun fact - my Writing Playlist on Spotify has more than 5,000 followers, so people out there seem to be with me!
Movies - I'm a sucker for musicals like Moulin Rouge and The Greatest Showman, but I also love a good horror now and then. My favourite must be The Conjuring. Oh, and it's always a great time to watch The Devil Wears Prada.
Books - I might not be a young adult any more, but I love all things YA, especially when there's some dystopian future to it. The Hunger Games, the Divergent series etc all keep me firmly rooted to my couch. Oh, and let's please get Rowling to bring back Harry Potter, could we?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took in a stray that showed up on my doorstep 2 weeks after moving in. He's quite possibly the best dog in the world. Not that I'm biased or anything.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I'd be happy to give you insights into any digital marketing you might be interested in, whether social media, websites, email, Google Ads or Analytics, SEO, blogging, the works.
Learn: Honestly, all I want to learn is what goes into your day-to-day in your home town. We're travelling the world to open our minds and expand our horizons, as cheesy as that sounds, and get away from the small-island-mentality that restricts so many of us Maltese. It's suffocating, and we want out of that. So let us shadow you and absorb all there is to see about your culture, lifestyle and way of living!
Share: I'm an open book. If you're hosting me towards the middle/end of 2020 then I'll have months worth of travel stories you might be interested in hearing. I've also got a knack for cooking and baking, so hey - I'd be happy to share some recipes or actual meals I've cooked with you guys!
