ABOUT ME

I love travelling! I try to grow remote roots where ever I go. Still, the biggest part of my identity is located in Finland, in my home town Oulu and my current place in Jyväskylä.

I´m keen into good conversations (as everyone as far as I know). The greatest richness in life is that everyone has his own image of the universe, and his own approach to good conversations about it.

I like doing things like cooking (mostly vegetarian food), drinking some beer, going out for a walk, board games, computers, nature, friends, movies, handcrafts, reading and Finnish sauna.

I´m studying social counselling at University of applied sciences. Besides English I know some russian. I´m in love with Russian culture, and I really hope Finnish people would study the language more.

I have green values. I live with my lovely boyfriend in Jyväskylä. We have two cats. The way of our way living is a bit boheme or at least my mother thinks so. I think life is ment to be enjoyed. Many finnish people forget it. ;) But I don´t like excessive hedonism either.

I have hosted already many couchsurfers. I have also had a profile in Hospitality club, which is similar site as this. I´ve been hosted myself couple of times.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: wide! I can listen many genres but not any of the radio hits. I don´t listen crap. :P

Movies and series: Lars Von trier is my favourite director (at least one of them), Stalker, Monty Python, Studio Ghibli, Aki Kaurismäki movies, Madventures (Finnish series), Six feet under, Wrestler, Free Jimmy, Requiem for dream, Babel, Amores Perros, The Blindnes... Just few of them.

Books: I read always something but slowly! My favourite writer is Finnish Leena Krohn. I´ve read also lots of Russian (not so light and easy) classics for my studies at the university, and enjoyed a lot!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I´ve slept over night in many strange places. I´ve woken up because of an alarm from city sirens in Russia and thought it was an explosion of a nuclear power station nearby. Luckily not!

Teach, Learn, Share

I´ve been thinking lately lots of asking help. I´m not good at that. Maybe it´s typical for Finnish people in general. If I get a present for example (conrete or "meltal" help etc.), I´m thinking immediately what I can give back. This is not only a bad thing. But I just cannot believe that I´ve deserved something good. And that makes me a bit difficult personality sometimes. :)
