About Me

I am a software engineer by occupation.
I am more of a listener than a storyteller in conversations but If you want me to open up abit more, a few glasses will do the trick 🍻. I like hearing what people have to say and enjoy the type of casual conversations that happen while driving in the car or cooking supper.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The focus of traveling for most people seems to be in experiencing new places and doing new things, and then meeting new people. For me it is the other way around. Traveling should be focused on spending time with the people and then exploring the land. Humans are social animals and I believe happiness comes from every day interactions with other fellow human beings

Music, Movies, and Books

An essential part to love a piece of music for me is the soul that eminates from the melody 🎼. The melody should grab my attention from the start. So my music spreads far and wide across all genres from classical to rap. Some of my soulful favorites are: Buwan, Dulcito e coco, Vor í Vaglaskórgi.
I love animation films with a good story, some movies I loved are: Shrek, Ice age and Ratatouille🐀

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There isnt a particular outstanding thing, rather many cool little things. These include public speaking and debating in front of the school, surviving 4th grade in South Africa not knowing a word of English, watching 3 seasons of got in 2 days and quite recently on my solo trip through europe, never missing or getting on the wrong train.. not once

Teach, Learn, Share

- Taught my south african friend to read korean in a week
- Teach how to play chess.. if that interests you :)
- Teach classical guitar

What I Can Share with Hosts

- Talk about things happening around the world
- Help out with cooking or I can cook some meals myself: not a bad cook 🍳
- Help fix things around the house. I am practically a handyman around the house.
- If you like philosophical discussions, I love them too. There is much to discuss
