Overview
About Me
Hey guys! I was born in China until I moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada when I was in Grade 3. 4 years later, I moved to Nanaimo, BC where I graduated high school.
I'm studying civil engineering at UBC Okanagan. I'm super heavily involved in extracurricular activities in school, and I'm a friendly-face on campus known for my open mind and approachable personality!
I've always been socially comfortable and well-liked and have no problem with small talk to allow myself become active in my communities. I can care deeply about other people's prospective in situations, being careful to maintain harmony. My open-mindedness allows me to seek out win-win situations that make everyone smile.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The quote that describes me best is "Happiness resides not in possessions, and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul" from Democritus. I feel joy when I go through life-changing experiences and moments that shape me into a better person. That alone matters to me more than any materialistic things in life. I'd love to meet new people around the world and learn to their life stories, so I hope to meet some great individuals here on Couchsurfing!
Interests
I love the outdoors! I like spending time exploring nature's hidden gems, snorkleing, chilling at the beach, boating, downhill long-boarding, snowboarding, pretty much anything that gets me fresh air. While indoors, I like to catch up on some Orange is the New Black, Mindy Project, Modern Family, Shark Tank, or The Good Wife.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was selected as the Canadian finalist for a CEO for One Month internship at Adecco, the world's largest Fortune 500 staffing & HR company in the summer of 2015.
Over 2,100 candidates in North America were cut down to 1 Canadian and 6 American finalists from the applicant pool based on GPA and personality pre-screening. The finalists and I completed a 5-day boot camp filled with education sessions and team assessments in Jacksonville, FL, United States.
It was a phenomenal and insightful experience and probably one of the best weeks of my life. We were mingling with executives, VPs, SVPs, EVPs, presidents, directors, and managers of huge companies and it was a once of a lifetime opportunity to network with these industry professionals ranging from law, tech, staffing, health-care, talent management, and more.
We had dinner in Jacksonville Jaguar's locker room and met Storm Johnson, we did a relay on the beautiful Atlantic beach, we built bikes for children in Boys and Girls Club of Jacksonville, we personally met Shannon Miller, we made a cake for Adecco employees which raised $160 for charity, and it was honestly a truly memorable experience that I'll always look back on and reflect on the life-changing lessons and moments I went through.
