I am an Iowa native currently pursuing a PhD in Genetics at Iowa State University. At home I enjoy cooking and baking, gardening, being crafty, and enjoying the outdoors with my husband and our dog Koozie. Abroad I enjoy trying new restaurants, outdoor activities, and meeting new friends.

I enjoy most types of music with my favorites being country, pop, and 90s alternative.

My preferred movies are comedies or dramas. Horror movies are a hard no.

I particularly enjoy historical nonfiction books and memoirs/biographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled to more than 20 countries and a few of my favorite experiences including hiking in the Patagonia region, observing wildlife in Kruger National Park, and traveling through the Panama Canal.
