I grew up in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California and spent my childhood backpacking, hiking, and skiing . I moved to Davis three years ago to study Ecology and have had opportunities to travel and learn from incredible mentors and friends all over the world. When in Davis, I love grabbing a beer with friends and chatting, going to the farmer's market, road cycling and swimming, and listening to live music.

While traveling with my partner in Guatemala, we stayed with couch surfers and I loved it. Exploring areas with locals and seeing how they live and interact with the world gave me deeper insight than would be possible from a traditional trip as a tourist.

One of my favorite parts about traveling is meeting people, expanding my horizons, and exploring viewpoints and ideas that I have never experienced. I want to leave my comfort zone, say 'yes' to as much as possible, and constantly grow as an individual and in my community.
