One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove across the US for two months. On one occasion, I was driving down through florida after midnight. One friend was asleep in the passenger seat, one asleep in the backseat. The road was open and the night was clear. I was simply overcome by a feeling of peaceful elation. Like it was exactly where I was supposed to be. Like nothing could have possibly been better for me. Very simple, and at the same time, personally profound.
