Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've only surfed, never hosted.
Couchsurfing is an awesome site for people to exchange languages, traveling advice, hospitality and laughs.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Istanbul April 2014-My friend Paula and I were hosted by a few students in Istanbul. It was so fun. The first night, our Turkish friend taught us how to make dolmas. They took us to eat mezzes at their favorite cafe for breakfast and showed us the best place for a beer in the evening.
Portland June 2014- I was looking for accommodation when I moved to Portland on a whim this summer. My new friend Tasha hosted me for one week.. I was starting an internship, so Tasha and her roommates were so kind putting up with me needing to borrow their iron.
Interests
I love to share funny stories. I am also interested in nature, running, ethnic foods, comedy clubs, contemporary art and live music!! (My love for traveling is obvious, I hope). When I am not traveling my Macbook is my best friend and reader, it helps me to feel connected with all of you people in the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Walking through the slum laundry in Mumbai. I spent one month going to many different cities in India.
-Building a fence on a wild horse ranch in Southwest Colorado. I am a farm girl (grew up in Southern Illinois), so I love hard work in the heat. I was on a volunteer trip and it was my first time out West.
-Floating in the Dead Sea
-Roma, Roma, Roma!!! I went with some Italian friends, so I was able to feel the true atmosphere of the city. Also, I've never seen so many American tourists!
