ABOUT ME
I'm an easy person, a happy-go-lucky type of guy.
I don't need much to be satisfied. Just give me sunshine, a bit of food, some conversation... and I'll be as happy as a puppy with two tails.
PHILOSOPHY
Try being joyful. Really, give it a go.
I am not talking about being happy. Happiness is a much more complex and difficult target that needs hard work everyday. I am not talking senseless laughter either. What I mean is something easy. A simple smile, a look at the bright side of things, a positive general attitude, the knowledge that things could certainly be much better but also much worse too.
Try joy. It is the greatest force for change. It will change you and everything around.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host, travel and surf. I spread the word about CS. I try to get as many people as possible to join the experience. The more we are the better!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I traveled for a couple of months in the northeast coast of Brazil using CS, back in 2012. The experience was extraordinary. I met some truly friendly and interesting people that welcomed me in their homes and turned my trip into an unforgettable experience (Everaldo, Juliano, Luciana and Ronaldo, this is for you guys!).
I have also hosted some people at my home in the north of Spain, with equally great feelings out of the experience.
Interests
I am one of those kind of people that likes a bit of everything. I have an interest in philosophy and economics, agriculture, sociology, music, politics and so on, which makes me a jack of all trades (and obviously master of none). I like to talk and spend time with people. I like to read and I write fictional short stories. I can play a couple of tunes on my guitar. I enjoy trekking, cycling, hiking and pretty much any outdoor sport. I love nature.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really like old black and white movies, from mute cinema to mid 50´s, more or less. I like the richness of the story-lines and the depth of characters in general. I find some old movies have a photographic quality that makes every sequence a work of art on their own. I cannot but being moved by those pale faces of Buster Keaton and Fat Arbuckle staring wide eyed at the camera, making you laugh or cry with just a twitch of an eyebrow.
I also like new cinema too. Actually, I like pretty much any movie other than Hollywood romantic comedies and modern monster flicks. And I have a truly guilty pleasure with sword and sandal films.
My music taste goes from brit-pop to electronica to jazz. although at the moment I listen mostly to british indie bands and hard electro house. Favourite outfits are Muse (over and above anything else), Interpol, Editors, The Vines, Autokratz, Daft Punk, The Presets, Kasabian, Little Dragon, C2C, Sebastian, Justice, Clara Moto... (this could go on for ever).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I saw a red deer swimming straight into the north sea at Aberdeen (Scotland). I was sitting at the beach and the deer suddenly appeared from nowhere, walked by my side calmly, dipped into the water and went swimming over into the horizon until I lost track of it. It didn´t come back. I waited for a couple of hours and the deer never came back. I know this really happened because my friend Luis Prieto was there with me and we talked about it. He even wrote this little story in his blog. Luis now lives in Mexico and he says that a few months back he went to the coast in Baja California and while he was relaxing in a solitary beach he saw a red deer coming ashore...
