I live on the California central coast and work as a scientist at a local biotech company. We've hosted a few people over the summers and occasionally travel to Japan for family or work and am interested in meeting new folks.

We've hosted a few folks over the summers and am looking to meet some new folks on some of my travels, which usually is Japan.

I enjoy playing volleyball and have been playing for almost 30 years and am always up for a game.

I also enjoy playing the violin and perform with a local orchestra in San Luis Obispo and also play taiko with a group based out of the SLO Buddhist Temple for about 11 years. This has also meant that I've learned how to build taiko of various size and styles in my small workshop.

Some of my more sedentary hobbies include building scale models of cars and gundam (gunpla).

Getting to play taiko with some amazing artists at my sister's wedding in San Francisco and having my folks and siblings there to see me play.

I've taught a few chemistry labs and classes at a local community college in San Luis Obispo.

I can share knowledge about techniques for building taiko drums from barrels or even stave construction.

I've also taught a number of workshops for beginning taiko for those who're interested in learning how to start playing.
