I spent 6 years of my childhood in Indonesia, Timor mostly, and came to Holland to live here when I was 10 years old. Since then I've lived in Leiden, Stadskanaal, Arnhem, Utrecht, Haarlem and at present, I have my residence in Lisserbroek.
After having worked as a nurse for some 20 years, I retrained to be a primary school teacher. At present, I work as a secondary school teacher, teaching mathematics and English. I'm teaching 12 to 14 years old children.
I have four children ranging in age from 33 to 15 years old. I got divorced some time ago.
Now I have a girlfriend whom I'm traveling with, Esther, 51. She is from Peru. She lived in France for 17 years. She has been living in Amsterdam for the last few years. She studied the Spanish language.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are couch-surfing because we love meeting new people in their own habitat and hope to be informed about the ins and outs of it. Basically, it's about getting acquainted with people living in a culture (slightly) different from ours.
