About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn enough to be able to make the world more friendly

ABOUT ME

I'm a student. I just graduated college but am still student from others, learning everything that I can from whomever I can. One day, I hope to know enough to be useful in helping to give back to the world--as an environmental studies person, as a international super spy, or as a human being.

I currently work for non-profits in Helena--a day job tracking political campaign dollars and an volunteer job helping to run an environmental group

PHILOSOPHY

To enjoy life where you can. Life's too short to stress out over small details. Hey, life's too short to stress out over large details.
Buy little and live cheaply so you're able to do the things that really matter--travel, visit family and friends, and see everything you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed a few couches through Europe and it was an amazing experience. I met some amazing people and grew a lot as a person just from seeing how other people live.

Now I'm ready to do the other side of Couchsurfing, and host some people coming through town. I host people coming through Helena all the time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed for a bit during Summer '07:

I've surfed:

Jonathan Chevassut for two days in London, UK
Olivier Michiels for two days in Brussels, Belgium
Nicolas Mons for two days in Sprimont, Belgium
Gerard Boswell for two days in Bergschenhoek, Holland
Felix Heerbeck for two days in Nordwalde, Münsterland

Interests

Music of all sorts (especially live music or drum circles), Ultimate Frisbee, Saving the planet one plastic bottle at a time, Francais, Theatre, Musicals, the occasional video game, and baking cookies.

Obviously traveling ranks pretty high on the list as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite four movies are The Matrix, Amelie, Pulp Fiction, and Sin City. I think that covers the spectrum of movies, so maybe I just like them all.

My favorite recent book is The Golden Compass & series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in a bush village in Western Niger (one of the poorest regions of the world) on a school trip giving $500 worth of school supplies to the school there. After spending the morning giving the gifts and throwing Frisbees around in 110 degree heat, they gave us a mini-parade back to our bush taxi singing like only African schoolchildren can sing. Very cool.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Burkina Faso, Canada, France, Italy, Mali, Mexico, Monaco, Niger, Switzerland, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, United States
