Hi! My name is Tevin. I'm a 21-year old student living and studying in Detroit, MI. I have plans to go to Chiropractic school after my undergraduate studies.

Interests

I like to explore urban areas on bike. I'm a burgeoning botanist (meaning I grow plants sometimes). I love meeting new people, eating new kinds of food, and seeing new sights. I would love to start this new chapter in my life of traveling on a budget, hence why I'm here!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: music with no words but lots of emotion; music with lots of words and lots of loud guitars; music that's just piano and nothing more; music that's electronically-generated and vibrates really heavy in your body; and finally, 80's throwback jams. I wasn't alive in the 80's but I sure can enjoy its tunes.
Movies: some of my favorite movies include Love (2011), Mr. Nobody, The One I Love, Zathura (basically a classic!), Interstellar, and Hercules (easily the best Disney movie out there). My favorite TV shows are: Fringe, Bates Motel, House of Cards, X-Files, 30 Rock, and Parks and Recreation.
Books: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, absolutely anything and everything by Dave Eggers, The Half Brother, A Prayer for Owen Meany, and anything that resembles realistic science fiction or a bildungsroman.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have lived in the city of Detroit for three years now, and I know it pretty well. I can share with you many of the lesser-known spots that you won't find in a tourism website or handbook. Not only does Detroit have some of the best food in the world, it has some of the most beautiful public spaces, art pieces, and people.
